Got tired of having a sore thumb loading Buckmark mags

I took a pretty rough spill skiing a few years ago that screwed up my left shoulder and thumb. Physio helped a lot, but I still have nagging pain when I move stuff the wrong way.

Holding down that thumb stud is one of those wrong ways. It starts as a dull ache, but escalates pretty quickly. After a few rounds of loading & shooting 4 mags, the thumb pain's radiating to my wrist and I start to lose wrist strength. Whatever I'm subconsciously doing with my left arm to compensate for that makes my shoulder start to hurt too, and once that starts my range day is pretty much done.

I solved the problem on Saturday.

Good idea but the Germans were about a 100 years ahead of you. ;)

One of these was issued with every P08 Luger.

I printed a few of these on my 3D printer. Thumbsaver works for Browning Buckmark, Colt and Ruger MK I II III and 22/45 magazines. Cost to produce is less than than a buck.

If anyone wants one, I can print one up for you. Your choice of color is white as that's the only color filament I have at this time. Cost to you if you are local is a bottle/can of beer. Or if you need shipping, you can pay the shipping and the part is free.

I don't like pulling the follower the whole way down all at once. I find that the first half dozen rounds can tend to fall into place either standing on the heads or even tipped around and sitting cockeyed. I tend to use my own button pulling rimfire magazine loading tools like this by only drawing the follower down enough to do two or three at a time. I find it's actually less messy that way.
