I had to go down to Buffalo this morning for work. It involved spending some time with various persons who work in US Government Law Enforcement, One of the guys and I have a history so we stepped out to the range before lunch for some fun and another agency was there with some of their fun toys..

I got to shoot the Micro Uzi full auto...as always fun but it reminded me just how heavy full size UZI's really were...

They had a suppressor for it (not sure why as this agency would never need a covert type weapon as far as I know) but it was quite effective in controlling muzzle rise as well as suppressing sound

anyways just reminds me of how much i miss my UZI

Did you sell your UZI, was it confiscated, or did you turn it in when c-68 was law?

Just curious..

Do you have any pics of the one you shot at the range with your buddy?

I've fired supressed as well (not an UZI, I'm jealous). A supressor doesn't make a weapon covert for the most part. That only exists in movies. But it sure reduces the amount of noise so you still have some semblance of hearing left (especially shooting indoors ) after the fight is over to give/receive orders, get ready for next engagement, etc.

they were grandfathered if you wanted to keep yours- you had to jump through certain hoops and lost it for about a year while the rcmp "tested" it, but you got it back eventually- then the letter came , and now it's a paperweight - still works, but the p/w won't let you take it out of the safe

I played with the Mini not the Micro. Hot damn was that fun. But it reminds me why gangstas can't hit ####! That things muzzle climbs like a mofo. As I said in my previous review in another thread, if I saw a bad guy poiting an uzi at me, I would succesfully defend myself by lying down horizontally. Concordantly, if I wanted to mow someone down with an uzi, I would align myself with that person (lie down if they are) THEN AIM AT THE FEET. In 2 seconds they would be riddled with holes.

In my opinion (not worth much) the best was the FN P90. That is the cats ass! The UZIs were more fun, but not very effective.

well not to steal you thunder SD but how about a full auto glock 17

(and relax it was on a gov't range and gov't assets )

I did get to try out a full size and was surprised how controllable it was

P90 may be technologically superior but UZI wins hands down by reputation alone. How many wars had P90 won comparing to UZI?

Yeah thats the only full auto ive fired is a Micro Uzi... neat piece of gear

A full auto g17???

Cool, somebody in procurement for that department must be a nut!

Not really.

ANY and EVERY Glock pistol can be made select fire via an FSSG Select Fire adapter.

Just replaces the back of the slide where it is normally flat above the rear of the grip, an voila select fire switch.

Gotta love USA for all the fun #### being allowed there.
