Being the Fudd I am, I have been on a mission to eliminate anything plastic from my safe... First on the block was my old 870 express circa 1993... It originally had the crappy wood furniture on it (yes, back then they didn't come with laminate, just cheap wood)... this was the first gun I ever purchased myself and will never leave the collection.... I had replaced the old wood once it became cracked with some camouflage synthetic pieces that I was never quite happy with.... I had also put a red dot on it for turkey hunting but have decided to go back to open sights after struggling to find a moving gobbler in the red dot in thick brush....... I purchased a Boyd's laminate set in Forest Camo and a 22 inch Truglo barrel for the project....

Then with plastic and red dot.....

And now with Boyd's and 22 inch Truglo....

Then it was on to my 700 SPS DM in 30-06 .... I absolutely love this rifle but the plastic hardware was rubbery and just not me..... So Boyd's was the ticket on this one too......

After.....

And then there is my Rem 799 in .223 which comes stock with a Boyd's nutmeg laminate.....

The most impressive thing to me was that the two aftermarket Boyd's set ups were direct drop in and bolt down... no adjustment necessary at all.... These stocks are great and a great way to revive a beaten up favorite as well....

They do make some nice stocks. The only problem I had with them were for my remington 7400. The butstock was perfect but the forend kept cracking from recoil. They discontinued them and offered to take back the forend for full refund but would not take back the butstock. After hours and hours of fiberglass work (to strengthen) and dremmel tool work it now works perfect. I have them on other guns with no complaints at all and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Nice looking setups there...I have the same problem, I hate plastic, laminate, rubber etc...stocks. Maybe I'm a traditionalist but I much prefer a good looking wood stock. Boyds is definitely the place, I don't even know of any other place in Canada or even in the US that can ship to Canada.
