That's a good point

The dealer didn't get back to me and its not like I can bring it to Alberta because I live in bc looks like its sol for me ill be giving them a call but I doubt it will help
 
There are other options but I don't think they cost 2800 to build either

The markups are probably through the transactions on various levels of dealers

Call them.

If they refuse or something i would ship it back to them anyways and do a credit card chargeback (will be granted once you mention you shipped it back and give the tracking number).

This defect is totally unacceptable.

that would imply that they all have this "touchdown" do they? how many other people out there have the same thing??

Yep looks like they used the same drilling jig made for the larger bore chinese military caliber that would cause the drill bit to go too deep and damage the inside of the .223 bore .. Not acceptable , when the chrome lining has been compromised it can lead to further chipping and corrosion of the chrome from fouling and solvents getting underneath that protective layer . My guess is they used the same drilling jig for all the rifles so this thread may blowup tonight.
 
I agree, Rick, I'd ship it back even if I paid cash.
This is just plain wrong, period.
Don't make excuses for Norinco, It should have a "normal" bore, no matter what the price was!

Update: the dealer is willing to take it back for an Exchange assuming it is in good condition and in the original box (thank god I kept the box) I will update on what happens... I really hope I don't get the run around when it gets there like for example they say I'm sorry its been fired or something I'm going to post pictures of it tonight as evidence that its in good condition

Mine has it, although of a much smaller magnitude of the OP's, actual performance seems unaffected.

Doubt I will bother swapping it, it's not the crown, throat, or a match rifle for that matter, so it doesn't matter personally.

Serial in the 1300087X range for anyone referencing.

The very best of luck to any owners who pursue a warranty claim, I think this is an excellent rifle and hope they all stay that way.
 
Damn, I feel the pain for you guys. Hopefully the dealers will get some resolution on this and get this problem solved and replacement guns out to you guys!!!
