I, too, believe it to be a sham. Good luck in your attempt to talk common sense to them.

Maybe you could bring in some tax information, as in how much money they will lose out on if they ban hand guns and semi-autos. I am not sure if you would even be able to do that but something on how much pistol caliber ammo you sell, how much "assault weapon" (their definition) ammo you sell, how many hand guns and "assault rifles" you sell. More specifically, not numbers but how much tax they would be losing currently. Then maybe mix in the number of people you employ and the un-employment numbers for your location. You may want to indicate that there would be potential job lay-offs that would be added to the loss of tax income. That might make them pay attention to the actual numbers of things that are bought and the taxes paid by shooters. No government likes to lose tax money.

Just an idea that might be worth having in your back pocket.

Good luck and god speed.

Peter

Please be positive and respectful and help them understand the difference between gun criminals and lawful owners. Suggesting other ways to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals, other than more rules for responsible gun owners, could help guide them to better policy. Complaining seldom works. Offering solutions is more productive.

John won't have a hard time being positive and respectful.

The Liberals know full well that this initiative is not the "answer" to gang crime. It's purely political and that's what John should challenge.... the political nature of this proposal.

The fact is gun owners support initiatives against gang and criminal use of firearms.... we are not the problem.

The Liberals have done a poor job of governing and rather then talking about Trade deals, Pipelines and Refugee/Economic/Welfare Migrants they want to change the channel to an emotional topic like guns.

Luck! My rosy red ......l

Wolverine and the other retailers of the CSAAA put aside their competitive differences to form an effective lobby.

Wolverine has run raffles in support of charities that do good work and didn't make a dime doing that.

Wolverine has proven time and again that they can work with other people / groups and that they care about society as a whole.

Wolverine is the kind of org that all of them should be and the CSAAA sets the standard for cooperation.

Let's see if your favourite gun org gets an invite .......

Over the short time I have been a member on CGN you Mr. Wolverine have consistently and fairly represented our sport and various businesses. I believe Mr.Blair has actually chosen quite well with whom to have this discussion. I also believe he wants to hear our side from someone who is highly respected within this community. Mr. Blair probably has someone in his office reading all the posts requarding the uocoming meeting to help prepare him. (I know we already know that but...). We trust you will represent us greatly.

Thank you for all your work. Your undying passion is exemplorary!

What a joke seeing all the negative posts and others giving John advice how to act!

Ever think that maybe more of us should act like John, innovate and also adopt his positive attitude.

This group is screwed, can't see ourselves from the outside looking in.

Could not think of a better well spoken individual to represent the law abiding firearms community than Mr Wolverine! Thank you John for all you do for the Canadian firearms community from coast to coast. If I ever make it to Virden, the first, last and every round in between is on me.
Cheers from BC
