OPSEC/PERSEC must always be observed, but its an amazing OS none the less.

No I'm talking about the Garmin Inreach devices that communicate by text.

There are companies that track your cellphone pings to the towers to track speed and direction of movement. They then use your phones main identifiers, and match them to data sold on the public market to make profiles on you to sell to advertisers or other buyers. They know if your walking, biking, driving. What stores you stopped in front of and for how long. All without you ever agreeing to anything. Cities are full of stuff like this these days. Just look at the Big push to make that giant smart section of Toronto, for the ultimate realization of that.

If you're connected to a network you're connected to a cell tower. Google triangulation.

Your cellphone can be tracked even when it's turned off. There is a second low-power battery in newer phones that keeps it active even when powered down. You'll overcome most tracking methods by removing the sim after it's powered off, but the only true way not to be tracked is not to have one.

Stop using them, you don't need them. Most of you probably lived and functioned perfectly fine without one for many years...

Don't bring the Devil with you and then be surprised once he starts to do harm...
