I just got a S&W 19-3 .38/.357 so I had a range day with it. It is great, it has a custom sight, Bomar maybe, and I like that a lot. I compared this gun to a GP100 and a Blackhawk Convertible. All have 6-6.5 in bbls. I shot all the same way (S/A) using the same ammo and at the same range, no bench rest but used my knees to steady my hands in a crouch position at 10 yds. Honestly they are all really accurate, better than I am, and none stands out better then the others. The Bomar sight is great, I love it so the S&W is better based on the sight but that is it. I like the sight because the front blade fills the rear sight so there is no room to move around in the rear sight. I didn't take a photo, do not have a photo sharing site and I'm leaving tomorrow for a little work trip so no pictures, sorry. The sight is flat top and the full length of the revolver, bolted to the bbl., very cool.

Sounds like a pretty interesting sight system on the S+W, I find my GP100 to be dead on even with the shorter 4.2" Barrel. I would be curious to see which would be more accurate if you were to have the same sight setup on the S+W and Ruger..
