Gp100 gp141

GP141 is the Ruger model number for the blued GP100 with 4.2 barrel, may also apply to the older ones with 4" barrel. I think KGP141 is the stainless model.

thanks for the info tobin. I went and looked at it, it says gp100 right on the barrel so what your saying makes sense. Not sure why it was listed as a gp141. Maybe that's why there on sale, nobody knows what is. Lol

A little research will tell you what it is. GP-141 is the old Ruger designation for model number 1702, or in plain speak: a 4.2" (or 4") blued GP100...

Uh, I've just checked and my blued 4.2", Ruger .357RemMag, six shot revolver, and it is profoundly marked GP100 on the right side of the barrel.

Of course it is. All of them are. But they use different model numbers to differentiate between different barrel lengths and blued vs stainless of the GP100 "style".

Ok....If you buy a blue Honda Civic with 17" rims, does it say "Blue civic with big rims" on the back or just "civic" ? Same thing, gp-141 is just a manufacturer code that mean "GP100 4.2" blued"...

I have an older 4" too but i don't have the factory box or case. IMHO, the older ones seem to have a nicer finish than the newer ones.

Looks like Ruger has gone to a 17xx model number system to replace the GP/KGP### system they used to use. Here's the way an older one is listed on a site sponsor for example:
