GP11 bullets to load 308Winchester, please share your opinion.

Getting GP11 bullets out of GP11 cases is a real chore, even with a collet bullet puller.
Sealant on necks is quite strong. If you have a lot of time on your hands, then go ahead.
GP11 powder can be used with RL-17 data for .308W
You'll need to soak the bullets to clean off the tar-like substance.
Personally woudl just use Berger or AMax type bullet.
What for? Target or hunting?

If you pull bullets from GP11 ammo, then that ammo will need new bullets. ??
The bullet is good, but cheap soft point bullets would as good or better.
And match bullets even better.

If you have no use for the GP11 ammo I'd sell it and buy .308 match components. There seems to be decent demand for the GP11 and I moved a whole battlepack for more than I paid for it (I got a very good price though) very quickly. If you do have a use for it I'd just keep it stashed away and buy some match components. You can always replace match .308 components but the GP11 is getting harder and harder to come by. More premium match bullets like Berger's, TMK's, and ELD's are pricier but if you're just having fun and not going to matches you could use the cheaper HPBT designs. The Hornady stuff tends to be very affordable and easy to work up loads for. The Hornady 150gr FMJ/BT bullets are also surprisingly accurate for a FMJ design; more so than the Winchester, Remington, and Campro FMJ's I've tried.

I have a batch of the 92 ammo that is crimped instead of sealed. Judging by the photo comparing these projectiles to the berger 175gr, it seems like a well constructed bullet. Problem is, this batch doesn't group very well out of my scoped k31 (5moa vs ~1moa with my 79 batch). Are the crimped bullets as hard to remove? I'm thinking the projectile and powder will be a perfect target practice weight and powder for my 300wsm.
All GP11 is crimped and sealed, the type of crimp has varied over the years.
Have you checked your actions screws and barrel bands? We have to check them before every shoot.
Still have some of that 79 GP11 to do a side by side comparison with the 92 vintage with the rifle in the same setup?

Most K31s need 15-20 rounds (with a copper solvent cleaned barrel)to settled down again once an even layer of jacket material is laid down again.

Next time I get a chance to go out, I'll be doing just that comparison.
Haven't shot anything but gp11. Was out with '79 and shot 1.3" groups. Went out 3 weeks later with '92 and couldn't get better than 5". Will try the '79 first next time before I adjust anything, but thanks for the link.
