Gp6

Any chance you were able to obtain the new C model safeties as a replacement part?

(I fully expect the answer will be no, but you've worked miracles before Sean!)

Well folks, the latest Skinnergram is up, and it looks like even more GP6 goodness is on the horizon. The pre-SHOT show teaser is that STI will be shipping a 5 inch barreled model shortly.

Now with no pictures of the new gun, I'm going to guess that this is not a new frame or slide, but instead just the longer 120mm barrel that GrandPower shipped to the Australian and Danish(?) markets. Who cares? It's still an extra 1/2 inch of barrel to tame recoil and boost PF (maybe).

As for the GP6-C, well sad to say I'm less than impressed with the pictures. I had hoped that the new and improved adjustable rear sight would be worth the wait. It's not. Instead of the adjustable rear shipped with the Grand Power, STI has had an Elliason rear sight milled and installed. It seems to sit too far forward on the rear of the slide to be estheticly pleasing. My guess is they may have taken existing slides including the origional rear sight cut, then milled them for the new sight.

For the money, I'd buy the origional GP6 and add the fiber optic front sight, Dynamic fixed rear sight, and big button mag release.

Funny, I've been actually waiting on the GP6C to add a GP6 to my collection.
I want adjustable sights, the FO front and the extended release for any competition shooting I'm going to do with it, but that's just me.

As for 5" Barrels, I'll be bringing in some GP6-Cs configured that way, but my opinion on the barrels that stick out of the front of the guns (like those franken-glock26s that get imported to Canada, etc.) is that they're butt-ugly. The only reason for the long barrelled GP6s is to get a little more powder burn out of a load, so I expect that only hard-core IPSC Shooters will want them.

I'm sure that you're going to sell every GP6C you get in the door. I was just a little surprised and disappointed with the way the sight was mounted. All the other added features that come with the GP6, I've already added to my non-C model.
