I have the Garmin gpsmap 64s and use it a lot hunting. Some in our hunting party have started to use their cell phone with the Avenza program. The latter works quite well but you need a pdf map of the area. My preference is to use the handheld gps, but if I did not have one already, I would probably consider using my cell. At $269, it is a good price. I paid quite a bit more for my gpsmap...

Well I bought the Rangefinder. Might get a GPS this week too, got a small bonus from work which will cover most of the cost if that 78s is still on sale at walmart tomorrow...
My phone battery is pooched, I can only get like 2-3 hours of GPS use out of it. Might look into replacing the battery...

You’d be getting about 30 minutes of normal use if you get 2-3 hours on airplane mode. The GPS apps pretty well only use your screen backlight when you check em, will last about ten times longer than normal in service batt life.
