Well go to any plave that sells the GPS and pay thru the nose for them. The last time I looked they were about $150 per area

The Magellan Explorist 500 that Canadian Tire has on for half price is it a good unit?

I just bought the same one from gpscentral. Great unit can't wait to get some topo's. I sure like the expandable memory microsd card option.

JYC?? you snooping in here?i know you took a few thingys with your gps at our camp.... would you have a few legatudes or longatudes or what ever you call them:redface: still on your gps?if yes can you post them..so i can find myself

ok here comes another :confused: .......it says i can down load 8 mb of data,if i had the cd..... what would that 8 mb consist of?how many city maps? or how many topographics would that be?
 
Donny I missed out. Saw in the bass pro flyer. They had those legends on sale on boxing day. $99.99 I guess I should go pick up the mail a little more often. Have you tried out yours yet?

oh be jesus.......dont let the wifey here know of that price.....she paid double that:eek: ....but yes was playing with it lots...had a drive from toronto to barrie...to lindsay.....to london way....can i say this is a neat little toy:D

If you want some good GPS practice - go to http://www.geocaching.com/ which is an international inventory of hidden treasures (read: coins and doodads) all over the world. Using a GPS you find these hidden items, log you visit, take a doodad (if you want) and leave a different doodad.

Good for a walk and fun with the kids. Some are hidden at the top of mountains, so not just for geeks. Best part is that you can use google earth to find caches near you, or where you are going.

I picked up a DVD on how to use my Garmin Rino 120 from Wholesale Sports a couple of years ago. These DVDs are available for a lot of current DVDs and they show how / when the features of your DVD can be used. I would think that they would be available at most places (at least larger stores) that sell GPSs and mapping software. They would be valuable if you are a complete newbie to GPS use.
