Grand Power K100

Jaro, if I knew how to send you a picture I would...
Customer service I one of the reasons that I bought this gun and I'm certainly impressed with both Grand Power and Marstar.
I also understand that pitting can happen, and if it was the only flaw with the gun then I would have accepted marstar's offered discount and kept the gun.
The problem with the front sight is interesting. The cut in the slide for the front sight was off to one side. The rear sight was factory set to one side to compensate. I got a second and third opinion on this to make sure I wasn't imagining things.
It's very interesting that the slide stop problem isn't actually a defect. I'm going to have to look into this. I've never fired a gun that did this, so from my perspective it wasn't supposed to happen. I don't think the manual talked about this function? I no longer have my gun so I can't check.
More later when I get my replacement k100.

And yet there are other pistols that are designed to do that.

Jaro, I assume you are somewhat familiar with the workings of the Browning designed Colt M1911 series. Do you think a similar modification be fairly simple or would it require extensive re-engineering?

(Ja, I know the best solution would be to buy a K100; but humour me for a moment)

I've finally got my replacement gun back from marstar. I've been upgraded free of charge to a Mk.6. Nice touch.:dancingbanana:

I think I've come around to Splatter's way of thinking regarding the slide stop.

I'm now able to directly compare the k100 Patrol to the Mk.6 for anyone else who is trying to decide.
The trigger on the Mk.6 is a lot lighter then on the Patrol. I found the Patrol trigger to be too heavy, so I'm really happy with this change.
The mag release on the Mk.6 seems stronger. Perhaps it's just my imagination.
The plastic has a light texturing, also good.
The rail design looks more modern.
The grip is larger and the shape more typical of other 9mm. This is the only flaw with the new design. The Patrol grip was unique and very effective for natural shooting. The stupid cutout slot in the back not withstanding, I liked the ergonomics of the Patrol better.
The slide remains the same, and the only real flaw here is the cheap plastic front sight. It's really easy to damage and I'll upgrade it at some point.

I have a question for other Mk.6 owners. The mag well on my gun has been filed, sides and back. Anyone else have one that has been worked on like that? I'm not really complaining here because the mags come shooting out, but it seems odd to me that this was done.

I've shot a K100 a couple/few times, was going to get one myself, but this just late last year, the election got in the way, it was taking months to bring more in, etc, etc, I didn't.

I'll say one thing - this gun has the shortest trigger reset of any Production division gun I've tried... Glocks are supposed to have short resets, the K100's is much shorter.. yikes... ;)
