I've finally got my replacement gun back from marstar. I've been upgraded free of charge to a Mk.6. Nice touch.
I think I've come around to Splatter's way of thinking regarding the slide stop.
I'm now able to directly compare the k100 Patrol to the Mk.6 for anyone else who is trying to decide.
The trigger on the Mk.6 is a lot lighter then on the Patrol. I found the Patrol trigger to be too heavy, so I'm really happy with this change.
The mag release on the Mk.6 seems stronger. Perhaps it's just my imagination.
The plastic has a light texturing, also good.
The rail design looks more modern.
The grip is larger and the shape more typical of other 9mm. This is the only flaw with the new design. The Patrol grip was unique and very effective for natural shooting. The stupid cutout slot in the back not withstanding, I liked the ergonomics of the Patrol better.
The slide remains the same, and the only real flaw here is the cheap plastic front sight. It's really easy to damage and I'll upgrade it at some point.
I have a question for other Mk.6 owners. The mag well on my gun has been filed, sides and back. Anyone else have one that has been worked on like that? I'm not really complaining here because the mags come shooting out, but it seems odd to me that this was done.
