Grand Power?

I'm usually a more typical person to like plain colours and such, but of course a stainless slide has a certain charm to it(ie scratches aren't as noticeable). So anyways, Marstar sells both the regular one and the two tone, but the two tone comes with the metal safety. Can anyone comment on how the flatter metal safety feels to operate in comparison to the regular one?

It seems as though the 'Patrol' has a 3-position safety lever. Up, Middle, and Down.
What are the functions?

Are firing/trigger mechs interchangable? If I buy a 'Patrol' and later decide I want a QA can I just swap pieces?

And I'd like to echo the request for a .40 S&W (actually I'd really like to see a 10mm; but that would mean a whole new frame).

Or maybe it'll be time to revive the old .41AE concept.

Had a nice suprise today with the K100 I ordered showing up from Marstar. Great job on the quick shipping and initial phone order service. Here are a few pics. I will be able to provide a range report after this weekend coming up. The fit is very comfortable...seems to be better ergonomics than my G22. I am not completely sold on the sight picture though, with the straight black front and the high vis rear...

Brent , Very nice! How's the trigger?

The SA pull is very clean and short. Definately not as nice as my tuned 1911, but I did not expext it to be.. :D The DA pull is very long, with an initial roughness that seems to quarter #### the hammer. After the initial quarter ####, the remaining pull is smooth....heavy, but smooth. I will have a more definite impression after some range time.

Could the way this pistol is designed affect the recoil in a good way? Or is it just not really noticable? I don't expect a huge difference but, is the way this one is designed more efficent at absorbing recoil? What makes this design a good one over the standard 1911 design? anyone?

Yaroslav, I have high hopes for this gun in Canada. I love the look of it.
Did I hear that right when you were on TV, did the Slovenian police adopt your pistol as its sidearm? If so, that's pretty remarkable![/quote]

Thanks Dear Friend :D
No ,this report isnt about our Police. our police has K100. ( i post any photo in future) this report is about the Slovak ARMY.
best regards
Yaroslav

I have had My K100 for almost a year now....have shot some IPSC matches with it....the ergonomics of this pistol are amazing, especially for anyone with large hands, it is without a doubt the most comfortable and secure feeling gun I have ever shot. I had an extractor fail at about 1000 rounds, which Marstar replaced with no hassles. I have stripped and polished every moving part in the gun and it is very smooth now with DA at 9lbs and SA at 5lbs. The only complaint I have is that the gun has a very bad habit of "stovepiping", and the ejection of the spent cartridge is very inconsistent. ie, they never go the same place twice. Not a problem if shooting higher power loads like IVI, but for reloads for IPSC power factor, guaranteed stovepipe every 10-15 rounds...perhaps I need to change the recoil spring?.......had some problems with mags dropping out when new, but polished up the mechanism and groung the lug on the retainer to be more positive...never dropped another.

Dear friend. we are very sorry for inconvenience. New extractor you have got needs to be tuned for your gun, but don`t worry. We will send you a new type of that with no need of tunning. we will send you a new recoil spring tuned for shooting lower power rounds. al we need is your mail adress...

Wow, now that is good service! :)

I haven't shot it but I handled it and it balances well. I did think the DA pull was long, heavy and gritty but I'm sure it can be tuned. The price is right and if the reliability is there it should be a good gun.

Yaroslav - That's a very nice pistol. I'm also very impressed by having you talk to us in person and give such individual service. I've never really been a big fan of two-tone guns but yours looks very sharp. 8)

I can't beleive they have been here for over a year and this is the first time I've noticed them!

curious as to whether or not a model will be coming out with a rail for the north american type lights to go on?

The biggest thing that I love about my K100 is the trigger reset once in single action mode.... it is about 1/16" at the most and very light, just don't bounce your finger around and you will see your splits tighten up very much.

If you have a K100, check out the reset as follows:

(with unloaded and proven pistol)

1. rack the slide;
2. pull the trigger in DA mode, keeping it held back (don't release it);
3. while holding the trigger, rack the slide (as a cartridge firing would do);
4. slowly release the trigger, untill you hear the click of the trigger reset!!!

Amazing eh?

Now practice so that your trigger finger will never move forward of that point and you will be off and blazing to really fast splits!

Wouldn't trade mine for nothing and it is one of the very first pistols imported with the 'patrol' safety (yuck) but I don't use it anyway. Mine also had a couple of initial problems with the magazine catch and mag follower. All were fixed promptly with a phone call to Marstar... they never made a fuss, just asked if I could replace the parts and then when I said yes they sent them out. If I said no they would have arranged a pickup of the pistol to bring it back for repair (before canada post could deliver). They even sent a couple of extra bits and parts to help me out (including the allen key cause I'm dumb :cry: and lost it)

Overall I hope that Yaroslav and Marstar keep them coming... that two tone one looks like a beauty...

The wife would 'frying-pan' me though... :oops:

"But honey, I just polished the slide and this is what color it was underneath." ;)

Thanks for the feedback. Very helpful for those of us who haven't seen one in person (yet).
