I will be moving to Grande Prairie the minute my house gets sold and will be looking for a place to shoot medium range in the grande prairie area.
Any one from there who could give me a hint? Thank you

Wapiti is open 1-7 in the summer during the week, open 10-4 on weekends, closed Mondays for maintainance. Indoor range is usually closed in the summer for maintainance. They would have longer hours, but they have to have a RSO on duty, a condition put on by the CFO, but with 600 members there is only about 20 people willing to work.

Never knew they had two sets of hrs so my apologies on that

That's new to me the two clubs I was member of there was no need for someone present all the time. You would unlock the door sign in and shoot and done sign out and lock the door behind you that was it. And it was 50 yards inside range. Only had to appoint one guy to be the RO when there was more then just yourself at the range.

RSO????
The other 2 that are an hr away dont need RSO's on.

To be honest, the club no longer offers me anything of significant value.
With so many limitations on shooting hours & distance potential, I have opted to go my own way in public areas.

I was a member from 1995-2007, and it was a great facility for what its built for. There is some politics as there is in all clubs.
They offer the shotgun shooter a wide variety of enjoyment, and some decent pistol facilities.

The rifle range part has been "stunted" by the golf course building residential areas around it. By default, residential ares get the legal priority when it comes to safety. This is why they are limited to 200 yards for controlled safety.

In my personal opinion, they should completely shut down the rifle end of things and concentrate on the services they can adequately support. There are some Very good shotgun and pistol shooters at the club.
