I suspect I know the answer but better safe than sorry. Has anyone ran into an issue transfering a 12-7 eligible pistol to its final owner almost immediately after the original transfer was approved from someone else to the 12-6 family member? Obviously technically there is nothing illegal as passing elgibable pre 1946 firearms is perfectly fine. Will it raise red flags unnecessarily with either the RCMP or the CFO ??

I've done something similar a number of times.
Out of deference to the bureaucratic culture of the CFC, we've usually given the system a week or two between completed initial transfer and second 12.7 transfer so as not to confuse folks in Mirimachie. But I've never been called to "explain myself" while doing this.

I figured as much. Thank you for the replies, I dont want to rock the boat and cause unnecessary suspicion for whatever reason. But I also want to get them in my name as soon as I can. The transfer to my father took at least two to three weeks longer than it should have in my opinion. And yes I have a few pieces coming that I'm excited about. I'm trying to collect as many nice pieces as my budget allows.

The first time may take an extra week or two. That was in my case. But keep an eye out and if you think it's long, call.
I already have one 12-7 in my name from a while ago. I've already been through the process. The CFO just seems to take their sweet time for some reason. The main purpose my original post was to see how others have dealt with the transfer process. Even though it's legal I prefer not to raise any eyebrows but I want to get items as I come across them transferred as soon as I can.
