I've read along on a few of these, never paid enough attention...
Now the Wife's father received 'The call' from the RCMP about what happened to the 'Prohibited pistols'. They want them welded up; spur trigger CF .32's IIRC
The Father-in-law is the executor of the will, it's been about 2 years since his passing.
Nothing has been down to decide who gets them.
Placed a call to the NFA and am waiting for the return.
Is there a 'Stickie' that someone can easily point me towards? Please and thank you.

Go to the CFP website. Estate handling information is there.
Should be transferrable to a RPAL holder in the family, or just sold to a 12-6 holder.

if the guns were made before 1945, they can be transferred to direct blood relatives although the recipient has to have a RPAL to possess them. In this case that means that your wife can inherit them as long as she gets a license or alternately your children (as long as she is the mother) can also inherit them directly provided they get a license.

cheers mooncoon

Thanks guys
None of the direct descendants has an RPAL. Nor the Father-in-law. I have one, my sister-in-laws husband has one and that's it.
I'm sure that the NFA will advise the best step. Just killing time til they call, not expecting Legal advice from an internet forum ( although 50 % of the members in this forum know far in excess of what the average RCMP knows concerning this topic)
I just want to make certain that if ( and when) the RCMP phone back; the Father-in-law will know what to say and what not to say.
I told him to say they are still properly secure in the Gun Safe; cable locked through cyl & bbl's as they are spur triggers.
Obviously my gal is going to be going in for her RPAL...

If the estate is not closed your father in law can possess them until it is. Have your wife get her RPAL asap so that she can take possession of the pre 46's and the executor can sell the newer ones to a 12.6 holder. My wife is a 12.7 girl so she has done all of this.

There are only 3; a S & W spur trigger 32 CF, a American Bulldog (H & R) in 38 and a another top break 32 CR 5 shot that I can never remember the name on...Newark, maybe.
The Bulldog is the only one that's more than a passing glance; might be an antique that one , but it's not in working order.
It's the point...weld up a antique pistol? Not on my watch!
I'd gone over to help the Grandfather figure out values quite some time back, got picture of most of them.
