Here's what everybody needs..

A couple of matching BURGO revolvers.. Consecutive serial numbers, pot metal, light chrome finish, plastic grips...

What more could you ask?

My 79yr old MIL gave me these recently after her husband died.

Excellent for use as bookends..

Best Wishes,

JP :D

Sorry, i'm not handgun savy enough to understand if this is good/bad
They look really sweet, why would they be good for bookends?
Are they really cheap crappy guns, or is it sarcasm, and it is a really good find?? What calibre would they be? Antique? Shootable? Toys......???

Basically I was trying to be witty with the "bookends" comment. The truth about the Burgo line of firearms is that they were not of great quality.. They were West German imports in the way of Rohm and Arminus. The chrome plating is thin, the grips are plastic and if you research Burgo firearms online you will find (as I did) that they are considered pretty inferior to most major firearm manufacturers products. The Gun Control legislation of 1968 stopped their import into the U.S.

Having said that, many people could not afford expensive (quality) firearms, and for those folks (back in the 1960-70's) these Bergo's and the like were the affordable answer. I don't think they were junk, just not very high quality. My MIL was divorced and in her early 40's when she bought her used Burgo. My future FIL to be was in his middle 50's, with very little gun knowledge when he bought his. A person knowledgable in firearms would normally not have touched one of these, for personal protection, with a ten foot pole.

I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember what caliber they are. I "think" they are 32cal? I have put them away, but when I drag them out again I'll stick a round in them and see what fits. There is NO indication that I could find on the revolver itself as to the caliber. That's kinda weird.

I'm sure they are shootable.. I'd forgotten that I have actually shot my MIL's about 30yrs. ago. (My wife and I have been married 38years). Both are in excellent condition, so shooting standard velocity ammo would probably be ok, but I just see no need to do so.

My wife wants us to get a "shadow box" made for them, and just put them on the wall to display in our computer room. So basically they will be conversation pieces that we will hand down to our Son when we kick off.

I'm glad to have them, and the story attached is just a plus.

Thanks for your interest. :D

Best Wishes,

J. Pomeroy
