Grandpa's revolver

Hi folks. Long story short, my grandpa is giving me an old .22 "Reck" revolver. It's made in West Germany and thats about all i know about it.
I live in B.C and he lives in Ontario. What are the steps in order for me to take possession of this revolver from him. If you could tell me the exact steps in order that would be of help! He has given me long guns before, but never a handgun, so this is new to me, and my grandpa isnt really "up to date" on things other than renewing his liencese lol..

Thanks, GM

If it is restricted, and if you have restricted endorsement on your PAL, transfer it like any other restricted firearm.
One of you picks up the phone, and starts the transfer. The other picks up the phone and completes it. Second caller will need the transfer reference number given to the first caller. Once approved, put it in the mail.
If it is 12 -6, you will need to have 12-6 on your PAL.

Grampa phones the Feds (1 800-731-4000 #1 #4 #2 and says "I want to sell a registered handgun." he will need to know his PAL # and will need the pistol registration slip in hand. They will want to know the Registration #. serial #, make and model and the name and PAL # of the buyer (you).

He will have to supply personal info to verify it is him making the call. Date and place of birth, home address and phone number.

They will give him a transfer reference #. He gives you that # and you call in, and say "I am the buyer of Ref # 1234 5678" You need to know your PAL # to finish the transfer. Once he is advised the transfer is done, he can mail you the gun.

If you don't have restricted now, you will have to that the course to get restricted on your licence, and you will have to have a membership in a gun club.
The first one can be a pain in the butt, but after that , it is easy.
If it is over 4 inch, that is good, if it is 4 inch, you are out of luck.
To buy a 4 inch gun you have had to have one since 1998. Gray hair helps. Stupid Liberal brain washing
