Grease for m14

I use Lucas X-Tra Heavy Duty wheel bearing grease.
It resists slinging out of fast moving parts
Resists washing out in the rain
Resists melting at high temps (560F)
Resists "sqeezing out" under heavy loads
Maintains a constant film
I'm in no way affiliated with this product - just a regular consumer. Bought at Canada Tire.

Me too... but I use it because it was on my shelf after repacking my old trucks wheel bearings....

I have also used regular old castrol heavy duty lithium grease (at least I think that's what is in the grease gun right now...?)

Both seem to work, honestly I think the regular a$$ lithium grease from my grease gun works better than the wheel bearing grease...

I use white lithium grease with the result that my rifle now looks like it is infected and leaking pus from its action......Ebola Rifle--yummy! Sometimes I tell people it's mayonaise....

I found the white lith worked wonders with a recalcitrant CZ 858 action, so I used what I had on the M14. They used to use it years ago in handlebar grip/twist shifters on mountain bikes--wet dirty and abusive conditions. Figured thus it should work in a military rifle action.....
 
I have a syringe full of white stuff I got from Barney at one of the clincs. No idea what's in it. Seems to do the trick, and will probably last me a life time.
