Grease for m14

What parts need grease? Whats the consequence of using no grease at all, and only using CLP? Just wondering cause thats all I use, but I'm all for grease if thats whats best.

That is a lot of grease points!

I wasn't able to make it to Hungry's clinic this year, and had no idea there were that many places that need to be lubed.

I've been using oil on my m305. My #### is still attached, and I'd like to keep it that way!
Recently learned the way of the grease on my glock, so I'll smear up the m305 as well.

Thanks for posting the vids, Crack Feather.

I'm going to take those videos with a grain of salt. I've used and cleaned every machine gun in the CF, and even the fifty doesn't require that kind of attention. A lot of the parts he lubed were common sense, but I don't think I'll be putting grease on my barrel. It's hard to get a good sight picture through the smoke it would create when it heats up. I managed to get a copy of the old US Army manual, and I'll see what that says.
A good video nonetheless, but a little overboard IMO.

To the dudes that think
It doesn't need grease, I've seen enough people on here and YouTube talking about using grease on these things that I believe it. And when you look at the Parts that contact and in the fashion in which they do so, I think that clearly it would help with peening and wearing on the finish. And I have fired quite a few rounds fairly fast and no smoke so far.
