I've been shooting for years, but it's only been in the last while that I've actually gotten into the semi-auto rifle game so this is gonna seem like a totally newb question...
I realized the other day in cleaning up my SKS that I wasn't sure of exactly what parts I should be greasing and which I should be oiling. So far, I've just been going by instinct when it comes to this but I was wondering if there was some given "rule of thumb" or something that I've missed to this point.
Are there any generally accepted given rules regarding this question - perhaps pertaining to the nature of the part? Oil for pivoting parts, grease for sliding parts, or something like that?
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!
