I got to the range at POCO around noon. Sun shining, not a cloud etc. I took one of the lower ranges and went to set up. I hadn't been for a couple of months and was surprised to see a fair amount of snow especially in the range areas. I guess they don't call it Burke Mountain for nothing. It was so mild I was soon down to my Kimber logo'd long sleeve shirt. Yes I know but I was ordering mags and had to have the shirt too. I used three B-27's for doing some drills with my Kimber Tactical Custom II and I felt any of the daily stresses drift away. It was so warm I was amazed. The Sheriffs (Corrections Service) were on Range 1 to my left obviously attending to an instructor because there were long periods of silence and then long volleys and the inevitable few late pop-pop-pops at the end. On the public Range 7 to my right it sounded like rifle day with some mighty Crrracks coming from that direction. An ERT guy from one of the police services on a day off dropped by to chat. I said "What are you dong here not on the clock?" but I knew the answer from his ear to ear grin. It was one of those magic days where the holes appear in the targets where they ought to and all was well with the world.

Yeah, it was a nice one here too. Way too much snow outdoors so I headed inside. Had the range all to myself, just like normal. Put 150 .357 reloads down the pipe, umm, umm, umm. Just felt right. Cleaned up a bit of a mess that someone else had left left and went on my way. Sun is out, temp is nice, punched some holes, had a great lunch and headed back to work. Wonderful day!

Today was great up here too!

We had a blast up here at the Peace Country Fish & Game Association range in Peace River, Alberta.

We played the IDPA game in the bright sunlight and the temperatures reached over the 0 mark which made for t shirt weather!

We had 11 shooters out to play and half of them were new. Most of the group today were made up of our local Sheriff's department.

Fun times were had by all.
