Last thur we had a rare thing in southern Alberta, no wind. My friend Don and I were out shooting our favorite target, the gopher. I shoot a CZ 452 american with a 4X12X40AO bushnell and Don was shooting his brno #2 with a 4X leupold. We had approx 140 acres of gopher area to shoot. Mostly hay land that they had invaded and we were driving my truck shooting farmer style. For those that don't no its out the window and call your shots. We ended up the day at about 7:00 PM in an area that sloped up on his side and mine. He had some gophers on a hill side quite aways away. I said to him why don't you range them and see if you can hit some. He said he wanted to try first. On his first shot he lucked out. Ranged at 173 yds. I could not beleive it but he hit quite a few more at that range with a few clip fulls of ammo. We talked about it later and the fact that no wind was the answer he hit so many. I was shooting lots at 105 yds. We bought the range finder together so its kind of nice to see what a guy can really do. Next trip Wid Horse Alberta 3 day gopher bonanza------Cowboy

I had my prarie chuck spinner out today at 100 yds and no problem hitting it consistently..... 1/5 scale and about 6-8 inches tall :)

Well its still out here thismorning Cowboy after about a week of storm after storm - I'm sure some of this ended up being your wind problem out there. Hopefully it'll be nice and calm for your Wild Horse gopher bonanze :) Kinda cool that some of you guys take the more challanging rimfire route rather than the loudenboomer whiz bang centrefire all the time
