Great out of the box non-restricted black rifles?

This is my coyote & wild pig gun, RA XCR-L custom and yes it's pricey...

Can you comment on the paint job? Did you do it yourself? Did you use stencils, masking tape, precut vinyl? Krylon, cerakote, other? I'm not 100% happy with the original CZ glossy, bluish/black paint. I was thinking of doing something like a riptile pattern on it:

The finish on this gun is done by Rob Arms factory in Tiger Stripe. base retail on this gun without anything is just under $3300. + taxes

Plus this was a heavy barrel which is now fluted to cut some weight off.

How does it shoot? I've always loved the look of the tiger striped xcr.

Is it that much cheaper than surplus 5.56?

I dont really pay attention to price since I dont shoot the stuff but it's definitely far more available. Seems like a guy can buy a crate of surplus x39 anywhere that sells ammo here besides Walmart whereas surplus 5.56 I've only seen in one store ever.

It shoots great and does the job in the field. But I'm into this rig for over 4k which is a lot of green.

Yeap. I know the feeling. If they made the AR non restricted it would probably save us all a bunch of cash (vs buying a >$2k other rifle). I'd probably just spend the difference on more AR's though haha.

AR NR... The KAC SR15 Mod2 would be very high on the list for run an gun and top precision, it succeded 5/5 MOA or better in Trinimon challenge... JP.

My friend gave me the advice to make my first purchase count instead of trading up over time.
Buy something you really want despite the price because if you settle for something cheaper, you'll just be wishing to get your dream gun 'some day'.
Buy once, cry once.
I bought a Tavor, never looked back and couldn't be happier. There's nothing on the market atm that'd I'd rather have instead of it.

Did you end up replacing the stock trigger pack?
