Great pro hunting interview on CBC today

If there is a way to listen to that interview ..... it's worth your while to do so.
She was on yesterday morning, and was re-played in the evening.
A thoughtful young woman who came to the realization about hunters who take an active role in their, and their families food sources.

This isn't Britain.
Just a random sampling of my neighbourhood in Vancouver finds that D. across the street owns a pile of rifles and used to live on deer in the Charlottes and has gone shooting and deer and bear hunting with me,, S. used to go caribou hunting when she was studying up north, C. two houses over hunted in his youth and stillowns a rifle and shotgun, the guy next door saw me in camo and asked if I was going duck hunting and said he hunted grouse now and again with his dad.
Teenage girl down the street is interested in hunting and left me a note asking for info on how to start and came over and helped us butcher a black bear in May.
I was getting into my truck in Ladner once after hunting the dike and a pheasant flew over my head. a woman walking her dog yelled "shoot it, shoot it!"
I had to explain to her we didn't shoot on roads, on the dike or close to houses.
I may be lucky but I just don't run into vast foaming at the mouth herds of antis.

MD, your original comment stated "anywhere in the world". Further, I too am fully aware that we do not live in Britain but the world is a very hostile place for use hunters, shooters, and firearms owners. Won't even touch on trapping. Britain, Europe, Australia... are certainly not friendly to the aforementioned activities and or "blood sports". Ownership of firearms and ammunition is strictly controlled and hunting for the most part is done by a select group there. Outside of the western world most "civilians" can't even legally own a firearm...and/or afford one.
We firearms owners have a very good thing here in Canada but IMO it requires a constant vigilant fight. I too, like yourself live in a community where many take part in outdoor activities including hunting and shooting...which is a good thing.
