Great Shoot At Galt This Weekend

Another great shoot at Galt Sports Club this past Sunday.

Targets were challenging and interesting, yet hittable as evidenced by Matt Vianello's 93.

Bobby and crew have done a boatload of work opening up new shooting stands. It's turning into a world class shooting venue.

Rabbits running up and down hills, long slow incomers from the next township, wicked crossers, change ups, potential twofers. It was all there.

I'm a member at Barrie, but shoot the tournaments that they hold.

I don't shoot there other than tournaments.

Sunday 9am to 5pm

These hours change depending on the time of year.

I'm not a shotgunner @ Galt, so I don't know if there are any restrictions or such for Sporting Clays and the like. Maybe Claybuster can chime in?

As I recall there is a waiver to fill out regarding liability and the rules. For sporting clays you must be accompanied by someone (member or guest) who has shot sporting clays there before. This usually isn't a problem as there should be someone who can take first time guests around.

Also sporting clay guests can only have three visits, afterwords they should become a members. I think it's fair.

WE allow members of other clubs to shoot clays at member rates as often as they wish provided they pay a guest fee once per year, and are paid up at their home club.

We have skeet, trap and 5 stand.

We often permit US shooters who have cottages in the area to do the same.

By and large, the Yanks do the same for us in Florida.
