There were 3 used during WW1. In order of numbers made, the Winchester Model 1897, the Winchester Model 1912 and the Remington Model 10. All 3 were solid frame models, had a heat shield (the Winchesters were ventilated steel, the Remington wood), sling swivels and mounts for the M1917 bayonet. During WW2 take-down frame Winchester 97s were used instead of the solid frame.
