Hi, All,
After over 25 years use, my Hornady Pacific 366 12 gauge shotshell reloader developed a distorted powder tube due to the vapour from the powder (700X) affecting the plastic - no other problems. I fixed it with an aluminum drink can and some tape... works fine. Since the machine had given such good service, I sent a "kudos" note to Hornady on how good the 366 is, but not asking for any replacements parts.
They sent me a new powder tube at no charge!
My reply to Hornady is below:
"Dear Hornady,
"We just got back from vacation (Alaska!) and I found you had mailed a new powder tube and a primer feeder spring! A warranty honoured after 25 years... amazing!
"In my first letter I had no intention of claiming any replacement parts as the machine worked just fine with my nearly straightened powder tube (with drink-can reinforcement) and, as you said, with no primer feed spring. [Edit: You don't need one]
"Anyway, many thanks.
"I will inform our Canadian shooting community of great Hornady service by writing to Canadian Shooting Sports and the Canadian National Firearms Association about this. I will also post a shout-out for Hornady on the forum http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/
"When I run into new shooters, I will certainly recommend Hornady equipment and supplies.
Again, many thanks. [signed]"
