Greatest cartridge ever invented? no magnums

Yea, sorry The 8x57 was changed ever so slightly in 1905 but it was first made in 1888 as the 7.9x57 or what ever. It also was mated with the 1898 action that still hasn't been beat. By the way the 7x57 is awsome as is the 6.5x55, the .303 british, the 30-06, and the 308. Hell, there all awsome.

8x57 cause it was first and, I think it beat the 7x57 by 4years and the 30-06 by 18 years. I also have owned five and they were all great. I can also get a 200grn bullet going 2700fps with only 48grns of IMR 4064 so it is very efficient.
The 8x57 rocks, its to bad you have to import a good sporting rifle or have one made because if they were easier to get more poeple would agree with me.

You can get one from Tradex:)
Actually I have never owned one.

I got one from tradex. It's a good gun but it is a 40 year old import.

Althought it's the most boring cartridge ever and I've never own and never will have a rifle chambered for it, I have the say the .30-06. It's the cartridge that all others are compared to.

War: 7.62x54R saved the world from brown plague, I'll vote for that one.

As for huntin' 30-30 probably downed more 'yote, deer and black bear than anything, so that is my vote.
