Green and Black Rifles

I am unfamiliar with this term(s). To educate me, can someone please define what is meant by a green rifle or a black rifle? I presume it has little if anything to do with colour.

Definitively the "black rifle" is the AR15/M16 and its history.

A Black or green rifle is more or less a synonym for modern militaristic rifles/carbines (smg's?).

black means anything military(cool) looking. anything that Joe Canuck will be scared of.
greeen means anything that Joe Canuck will think is a hunting rifle

Actually, in the context of this section, a "green" rifle is just a black one dressed in OD or any of the other fashionable earth tones that you see them accessorized in these days...
