some time back, when I was searching for a load that would work accurately for my 44-40, I found a load for Green Dot.
Now you might think that weird, and I had some questions myself, but it turned out quite well.

It's one of several loads that work well in my 1892 Winchester.

So, does anyone else use Green Dot for a non-shotgun load?

I have used it in cast bullet .38 special loads in my Rossi M92. Also Red Dot, and Unique. All the Alliant quick burning powders can be used in pistol cartridges with cast bullets, some just work a tad better than others.

I have a few pounds of this powder in my cabinet that I'm going to be using for cast bullet loads in some of my rifles, but haven't actually loaded any rounds yet. My old Lyman cast bullet manual, print date of 1973, shows dozens of loads in a wide variety of chamberings but my latest copy, dated 2010, shows very few to go by for some reason. I think I will start out on the low side as usual with the older manual and see how things go from there. Most likely in one of my 8X57 Mausers to start with.

What I find weird is that you have Green Dot. I'd have a better chance of finding a diamond in my driveway, lol.

I was wondering if it might get pulled for lack of sales

My shotgunner friends would kill for some. Believe it's still very popular.

Enjoy.

I have used it for cast bullets in rifles , 10 grains and a lee 155 gr make a fun plinking load for my .308,
