Green scum

I'm sure this subject has been addressed before but......
What do you use to remove the green scum that sticks to the walls and bottom of the tumbler?
The media I'm using is corn.

i toss in a cut up dryer sheet when i tumble... tens of 1000s of rounds i have never seen any soft of build up on my tumbler.. is your media getting wet or somthing?

I also put in "used" dryer sheet strips, whenever I tumble.

Every now and then, I wipe the bowl down with Windex

Last night I tossed out the old stuff and saw the build-up, I tried a plastic scraper with very little success, then I tried some acetone to see if I could liquify the stuff but I got very little to stick to the rag, using anything else than a plastic scraper will scratch the plastic pad and only create more adhering surfaces.

What else can I try?

I would give some spray nine and a tooth brush a try, and expect to be at it for a few hours, so you might want a case of beer too.

Edit: On our tumbler, we just leave the scum on the wall, it isn't really bothering anyone.

Are you using tumbler to remove sizing lube ?

Hot water and some soap should remove it and a wipe down with a paper towel

a cut up used dryer sheet works good to keep the dust down

After I switched to walnut the green stuff came off in the first batch.

i have the same issue with walnut, i just leave it though, doesn't seem to hurt.

I use firearms degreaser, takes it off easily.

When I get this build-up on the sides of the tumbler, I consider it time to change to a new batch of media. I've found that if I leave the scum and old media in place, the brass will pick up bits of gummy residue (old accumulated bullet lube?) that has to be rubbed off manually with a cloth. The scum on the sides of the vibratory cleaner removes easily with mineral spirits (Varsol).

To answer someone( can't remember who) no I don't use the media to remove sizing lube.
But I will try the Varsol.
