I suppose a ship could be unloaded, and the containers heading East by train, before it would normally be reaching port in Vancouver. Not to mention eliminating having to navigate the Inside Passage or having the train derail in the Fraser Canyon.

It does save a day, 30 hours actually, to the midwest. It also avoids urban congestion issues. Watch the video
 
As long as it is legal, one has all there paper work, and permits are in order then one can ship anything.
Also having the money up front is key. :D
