Green Tip Ammo Accuracy Test

Fixed the link for you. Not sure why it didn't wok right.

Good read, just remember that as he states in part of the write up that each barrel/projectile combination must be found, so just because he had good results with a certain type of ammo doesn't mean your rifle will shoot it the best.
Two of my rifles like the PMC X-Tac 62gr stuff as well but the Black Hills Mk262 Mod 1 77gr stuff shoots the best in my rifles, unfortunately it's also pretty expensive so I don't shoot it much.

Barnaul 62 gr was the most accurate so far in my KAC Mod 2, but only tried one 62 gr, my order of 855 is due... JP.

Good Article on MK 262 ammo:

He's incorrect as to no NATO documents on failing of M855/C77/SS109.

SOCOM adopted Mk318 SOST (as has the USMC) due to barrier and terminal deficiencies with the SS109 round. As well the US Army has adopted M855A1 for similar reasons (but with a round that has pressure and wear problems as well as costlier and less effective than SOST).

Another problem with Per Arvidsson's paper is that he does not look at (I prefer the term ignores) the fielding of an increasing amount of 7.62mm systems throughout NATO - and uses a 70's vintage 7.62mm ball round to compare with 5.56mm. It is similar to the efforts of the 6.5 or 6.8 crowds when they compares their pet with another and choose apples to oranges.

I do agree with his premise that SHOT PLACEMENT is the most important aspect - but as far as a defense of SS109 it fails horribly.
