Greener fire arms

What makes a greener fire arm worth so much .. I seen a 22 single shot for a 1000.00 and it seems that any gun with greener on it is very pricey . Converted Mausers whatever .. Do they shoot better ,, is the wood worth more ..
 
Hand crafted quality comes at a price, regardless of the item. Generally the more time/materials invested in the production the greater the cost to the consumer... but some have the resources and appreciate quality construction.
 
WW Greener is one of the old English names, and produced everything from utilitarian (though excellent) shotguns for commercial fowling, to military trainers, to best grade 4 bore double rifles that fetch hundreds of thousands today. There is a good deal of respect for the brand, and it commands a premium generally, especially so over no-name customizations and sporters. You'll typically find high English quality in their work as well, I have two in my safe and they're very finely made pieces.
 
Very sought after for trying to kill 25 foot great whites. Allthough you need a Garand to finish them off.

Anything with an English name engraved on the barrel will fetch a premium. Sometimes the gun is worth the extra premium, sometimes not. Some sellers get carried away and ask foolish prices because of the name, without giving consideration to what they actually have in their hands.

Oops... it had been awhile... I was wearing an orange "wife beater" and ultra-short jean cut-offs the last time I watched it... I have never been the sharpest knife in the drawer, but these days, I'm having trouble with warm butter...
