Greener Martini

As I mentioned above, I had no difficulty threading a single shot shotgun barrel to fit to a Greener. There was a shoulder left. I don't think that the threads were particularly large in diameter. The changes in the Greener shotgun action were to allow a shotgun shell to be loaded and unloaded.

have a greener action thats going to be 577 2 1/2 NE inch when finished ,barrel is already fitted and test fired a few years ago .Its in que after I finish up the speed project.

Well, here's a thought.

Use the existing cartridge size and source a Vickers ATK barrel (.69 calibre) capable of being threaded onto your action.

Set back & Re-chamber the new barrel for the existing cartridge albeit for bullets.

Get Accurate to build you a roughly scaled-down version of this one:

http://accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=73-1450-D.png

1150 grains (0.405 S.D.) , with ~0.690" of the bullet seated in the case & a 0.750" nose length.

109.0 gr. of H4227 yields 1,700 fps MV & 7,500 ft. lbs. of KME.

And Presto, you now have (probably) the only .730/700 Nitro Express in existence.

It would probably give the .577 Tyrannosaur a run for its money!

;-)

Have a Monday!
