Hello there everybody,

I would just like to introduce myself quickly and to get a feel for the other members here. I am really new to shooting, having shot my first gun about a month ago. I am just your average university student who likes snowboarding, video games, a good book and of course my newest hobby, guns. I have only been to a range twice, and hope to increase that number very quickly. I have not yet acquired my PAL, but I am definitely working on it. As of now these are the guns that I have shot :
1. CZ .22
2. K31
3. Lee-Enfield No.4 mk 2
4. a single shot Turkish Yildiz
5. M1 Garand
6. a break action 12 GA shotgun
7. Ruger M77

As of now these are the guns I want to get my hands on, as soon as I can scrounge up the money for them and my PAL:
1.Ruger 10/22 DSP Deluxe Sporter as it is such a beautiful little gun with which I can learn to shoot properly
2. Yugoslavian M48, my dad shot this during his army training and as such I would love to own one. I have also heard that they are fantastic guns.

As of now I am looking forward to plinking and to eventually getting into hunting, working my way from vermin to elk and deer, and then eventually even dangerous game. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and if you would like to get to know me better, please do ask away.

Welcome! You're on the right track for sure. Lots of students and younger people on here (something about being computer literate I think).

The yugo m48's are still a common sight on the EE, just have to bide your time for one at a reasonable price. Same as the 10/22's. If you have cash in hand and patience you can get a deal on a nice one.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm sure that there is an insane amount of experience and knowledge to be gained here, and I am looking forward to that!
H Wally: I have already gained access to the EE forum and there is a serious amount of 10/22's and I am just about to search for the Yogo M48. Now the only problem is the cash! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, ah the perpetual student problem! Yes the computer literacy is an important determinant of the demographic.
CdnCombatMedic: I will be sure to shoot an AR15 as soon as I possibly can, which may be a while, but as they say, good things come to those who wait!

And for everybody else out there, I would most definitely love to get any and all suggestions towards or away from guns, I mean we all do have our preferences but, I am open to suggestions. What else should I look for? I will most likely get all of the Milsurp guns that I have shot, as they are fantastic, and I love their aesthetics, but what did you start out with? I will most likely get into handloading as well, depending on how fun the M48 is to shoot, as the 8mm Mauser rounds are sort of scarce.
