Hi all!

I'm really enjoying perusing the forum and gleaning all the years of knowledge that you have all acquired! I'm an information junkie and greatly appreciate the contributions that you all make. I hope that I will be able to re-pay with my own information eventually.

A little about me: 33, Mechanical Engineering Technologist by profession, living in the electoral district of Elmwood in Winnipeg. I have just recently completed my PAL/RPAL and am looking forward to finally owning my first firearm! When I was younger(13 or 14), I was intrigued by guns and would buy issues of "Guns & Ammo" and would pretend to understand all that I was reading. :) I dropped that when I really discovered girls! Guns were always around, as my friends dad was an avid collector of firearms. My friend and I would sit around and handle his guns while he was cleaning or repairing them. My first time shooting was when I was 22 with my friend and his dad. hehehe... Since then, I've had the chance to fire many different types of handguns/rifles/shotguns. I've been hunting twice(in the past year), loved every minute of it, and decided that it was time that I get my own firearms. I've obviously joined the correct forum to enhance my knowledge, and to make an informed first purchase!

Thanks once again!

Welcome aboard.

Do you plan on getting into restricted firearms as well? There are some great clubs in town that is always looking for members.

Yeah, Winterpeggggg is right, although I'm grateful it isn't -42 like other areas of the province tonight.

Jaws: You bet I plan on getting into restricted firearms! I live right near Gateway Gun Club, but I think I might become a member of Selkirk as that's where a couple friends of mine go. Which Club are you with in/out of town?

Selkirk Fish and Game range is great. 200 yard rifle, skeet and pistol range too. Open daylight hours 7 days a week and about 1/2 hour from North perimeter. Great group of guys there and as a relative noobie, all very helpful no matter what you shoot. Most liked my old Winnies and Mossbergs.

Thanks Jaws... Once I get all my stuff completed I will probably take you up on the offer. Brant, I assume you work for Bristol?

Nope ,named after a type of goose ,but I do have a Black Brant high powered rocket that stands 5 feet tall (next to guns ,high power rockets are a pretty good buzz);)
Actually work in shreet metal trades (commercial/industrial ventilation/dust collection)
