Hey. I'm Mike, and am a gun nut in training. Not much to tell you guys, but I look forward to finally finding a local site to converse about the art of firearms with like-minded individuals.

I just bought my first rifle larger than a .22 last week. I went with a .30-06 which, as I have discovered, has slightly more kickback than a .22 :evil:. I also own a couple .22's.

So, like I said, not much to tell. But once again, I am just shouting out to the community here from Saskatoon, and hope to find some local Sask shooters to talk to, and even hit the range with.

Welcome to the madness , it sounds like you have taken the first step down the slippery slope ( hope you enjoy the ride ) will likely bump into you at the SWF . And again welcome to one of the best places to learn and spend your spare time and extra money ! Barclay!!
 
Hello and welcome. That was quite a leap you took. As you get the itch to acquire other rifles, something pushing a slightly lighter bullet might be of interest. For many years I hunted with a Savage 99 in .250-3000. While not appropriate for moose, it was just fine for mule deer. Eventually I had it rechambered for .250 Ackley Improved, which made for slightly better ballistics. It was a very comfortable rifle to carry and to use. I never did get anything in .30-06, but I had a .308 for some years. Enjoy the site.
 
Yo, if anyone is gonna check this back out, i'm all up for a shoot at the swf. I am going to go on Saturday at noonish... I don't have anything neat to bring, but I want to get a little better with my .30-06. If anyone else wants to show, it'd be awesome. Let me know if you're interested? Later days!
 
Welcome aboard! Would love to meet up for a shoot but I'm in a training course all day Saturday. Maybe another time. Need to sight in my .308 before the real snow flies!
 
well, I hope to be there will my new lee enfield on Saturday at about noon. Any fellow gun hosers from the flats are welcome to join. If you do decide to come, look for a piece of shiat blue chevy S10. That's me. Also, I'll be the guy that looks like he has no idea what he's doing with a lee enfield.
