Do they usually work in with use? (ie: get lighter) Just noticed I was drawing and disengaging the thumb safety and once in a while I noticed that if I gripped a little higher I would not totally disengage the grip safety, or if I didn't squeeze enough....My draw is a little inconsistant though (new pistol), but just wondering if leaving it pressed in for a week with an elastic or velcro if it would work it in a little.

on another note, why the #### can't I use a magwell in production division! ;) (just joking, but it is like night and day going from HK usp to a Edge doing magchanges):p

Maurice, I don't think wrapping an elastic will do anything, you've just go to practice and get a consistant grip going. 4000 repetitions and you'll have it.

HHAHHAHHHAHHAAAGAG aggggggghrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbbggggggggh
Well the slide is very tight, and the finish is great. I was engaging/disengagin the thumb safety and then put a tiny drop of slide glide on that and it is working in already. The takedown was easier than I thought. The feed ramp is mirror like.
Nice!

Sorry Bud.

That's one thing I won't do for ya - deactivate a safety. Liability. :( That said, most guys do deactivate them on 2011/1911s in Standard division.

The most popular method is to drill the M/S housing and put a pin in to keep the grip safety captured.

Glad you're having fun. Drop me a line if you have any issues and we'll fix you up.

If you have a beavertail, that's what tends to happen when your grip is nice and high on the gun; pressure on the extended beavertail actually pushes the grip safety out of position at the bottom and engages the safety. With a standard grip safety it's much more difficult to do, but then you can get hammer bite. The beavertails with the memory bump can be good if you don't like deactivating safety devices.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to try and get it disabled. That is exactly what I was doing, going up way high on the grip..
This is a very solid Gun, very tight, a little working in and some Slide glide and it is like butter. Frig this is a nice gun!
thanks Sean.

I don't intend to stop shooting production, but with a little one on the way in February, a will only have cash for ammo and diapers and milk (NOt in that order of course);)
