Anyone know where I can quickly get a set of 1911 grip screw bushings (the little threaded tube which the grip screw threads into)? I installed a new set of grips on a 1911 today, and accidentally cross-threaded one of the bushings

While you're at it...

You might want to get one of these too.

It'll save you a lot of aggravation later.

Bushings & screws on a 1911 frame.....

The trick of course is not to over tighten the grip screws on a 1911. Of the few dozen examples I've owned over the years I have had to replace many bushings as they came out when trying to remove over tightened grip screws.

While a staking tool is a nice option and of course a way to totally secure a replacement bushing I've never used one myself. I have replaced many bushings and just snugged them on with an appropriate screw driver. I've never had an issue with any that I've replaced over the years and I don't over tighten the grip screws myself.

A tap might just clean it up for you while you wait for some new bushings....might as well by several for future needs.
