Hey guys.

I wanted to start screwing around with .22lr, so picked up a used m93 to play with. It a great little gun for the price, but I'm a big dude, and those little grips were getting pretty uncomfortable after 100 or so rounds. My palms are just over 5 inches across, and that leaves about a quarter of my palm hanging off the bottom of the gun, which isn't very comfortable, and probably doesn't help accuracy.

Anyway, it's fine for now, I'll just wear gloves so the machined edge doesn't dig into my palm, then upgrade down the road a bit.

But I'm wondering if there are any comparisons of size out there in cyberland for .22s? Is see a lot of comparisons for "duty" and "action" type pistols, but not much for the targets and plinkers. I assumed my next step would be to trade up to a buckmark or a mark II or 22/45 or something, but I really don't know if they'd be any better from a grip size standpoint.

Any info you can provide is appreciated.

Nothing eh?

Then perhaps a few of you folks could do me the favour of measuring your own pistols the next time you've got them out? Any of the pistols listed above or similar. I'd be looking for the distance from the bottom of the frame behind the grip, to the bottom corner of the grip. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

I used to make custom target grips for match pistols. At five inches across the palm your hand is twenty percent larger than the average. I doubt you will find grips for the little Norinco, so you may have to make them yourself, but before you do look at the websites of the professionals Rink, Nille, or the run of American makers. Just google "custom pistol grips".

Yeah, I'm just barely satisfactorily talented enough to make my own grips, which was the plan, but that finger-and-thumb mag release really limits what you can do. For the amount of work it would be (and how goofy it would end up looking), it's really not worth it on a $200 gun. I'll just shoot it as is now, until the right deal comes along on something a touch bigger, then trade up.
