So here I am, 10:19 at night and playing with my pistol (no not that one, my M&P 9). Then I remember that I have some grip tape over in my tool cabinet. I am in the process of gripping up my grip and a spot for my trigger finger on the side of the slide, and I got to thinking. What about the face of the trigger so that my grip on trigger doesn't move under the stress of recoil. Thoughts?

Also, any one have some pictures of their customized grips.

I just prefer shooting some firearms with grip tape....Hk usp was one..front strap on an un checkered 1911 for another...I think my hands are made of course leather...so it doesn't really bother me...

I wouldn't put grip tape on the M&P trigger. Been a while since I shot a M&P but doesn't the trigger have a moving part on it, like a Glock Safe Action trigger?
Also the grip tape won't help your finger stay on the trigger during recoil. That is more a function of training, discipline and good trigger control. Most people reflexively let go of the trigger between shots. Work on feeling the reset and you won't need grip tape.

Adhesives on triggers will fail at the most inopportune time causing this flailing flap of tape to interfere with trigger control.

As SA says, learning to ride the reset will eliminate your finger coming off the trigger between shots. It will also significantly speed up and tighten up your double-taps.

I'd pass on sticking ANYTHING to the trigger for fear it would slide around.

You likey will find it rubs your finger raw if it doesn't fall of right away. I have some grip tape on my M&P9 and like it, grip & frame, up at the top of the backstrap and some on the slide. Backstrap is going to come off as it rubs the webbing on my hand a raw after a few hundred rounds. Oh I put a thin strip on the bottom of the trigger guard.

As already noted, learning to feel the trigger reset will be better than grip tape on the trigger.

I use grip tape on all my pistols, I have a stencil that I use for my Glocks, it includes the grip, a strip for under the trigger and a pice where my index finger rests on the frame. I find it works great, is cheap, and 100% reversible unlike stippling
