grip tape for pistol

When I took the black badge course the instructor swore by skateboard grip tape. I've got some on my pistol (not a Glock) and haven't had any problems.

3M "Safety Walk" tape, available at some hardware stores, is good. It has a rubbery, rather than an abrasive/grit coating, so it's easy on the hands.

The adhesive is aggressive and durable, as it's intended for outdoor use.

I've used skateboard tape on my 1911 and my HP, its a very nice inexpensive solution. I think I paid ten dollars to get enough to cover a skateboard, it goes a long way.

The gunzilla and other oils may eat your grip tape, at least it did mine.

At least its cheep and easy to reapply...

Skateboard grip tape works best on my G22. I traced a stencil first to get the shape I wanted. (And is then saved to create more) Grips great, looks good, and has lasted longer than two Hogue grips combined. My pistol sees a lot of handling use.

When I need grip tape I got to the skateboard shop and ask the kids for a 1 foot piece. When they ask me what kind of board I have, I tell them I don't skate... It's for my handgun :runaway:

After a few minutes of "like, dude, that's totally, like, rad, like with REAL bullets 'n stuff?" I usually get the tape gratis...

Same thing happened to yesterday. Went to a skated shop and got the grip tape for free.

I have put bike tube on my CZ and work really well, then later on I found there is something call gloves

LOL One of my sons likes gloves - receiver gloves, actually, with trigger finger tip cut off. They look and feel like a soft tire :)

I prefer bike tube. That's what I use on my GSG 1911. I just have to remember to take it off after shooting, leaving it on the grips will cause moisture buildup and rust.
