hi,the wood grip is a little uncomfortable for shootin.(i still love the looks of the wood). have any of you put on rubber grips? how do you like them? can you post a pic?

thanks limit.

Any 'K' frame grips will do. Pachmayr grips are great and inexpensive(aftermarket wood grips can get pricey). They still have to fit your hand though. Most gun shops will let you try a set on for size using their revolver.

As far as rubber grips go I like Hogue finger-grooved rubber grips--they provide good comfort and controllability. I had used Pachmayrs for years--both the Presentation and Gripper models--and they were OK but I find the Hogues fit me a bit better. I've got them on my competition 686:

If you're looking for a more comfortable grip that still has the classic look of S&W Target grips you might want to consider Ahrends "Retro Target" grips. I've got a set on my Model 28-2 and they are really comfortable compared with S&W factory grips--they're a little slimmer in the right places and also subtly recontoured a bit. I've never liked the feel of factory grips and these look just as good and feel much better.
