Beretta sells stainless and blued steel guide rods. The stainless is a one piece and the blued is a 3 piece (go stainless). David Olhasso also sells them (factory ones). The newer Beretta's ship with plastic, but older ones metal. And since the metal ones are offered by the factory they are legal.
