Gritty mag release

So I purchased a PWS MK1 and I'm having a problem with the mag release. It sometimes feels very "gritty" and occasionally I can't even press the button in with my index finger (once I reseat my finger on the button, it will work.) It seems to happen when my finger isn't seated on the center of the button; usually pressing it in at a downwards angle... kind of hard to explain. I've taken it out, inspected it, greased it up like a mother******, and reinstalled, but still no luck. Anyone?

You may have a burr on the hole that the catch seats in. I've had to take a sharp blade to clean the edge of the button hole for free movement. Just a touch...

This /\ /\ /\, and maybe try turning the button in a half turn at a time. I have seen where the button was not deep enough into the pocket and hangs up on the wall(or lip) of the recess it fits into.
PWS makes a great rifle so don't be discouraged...it's a really easy fix.

did you purchase it used? prehaps its a replacement part of poor quality or it was took apart and not asembled properly or maybe even not asebled preoperly from factory.

Thanks for the replies. It's a brand new rifle; nothing through it yet. I've already checked the hole in the lower but it looks clean and smooth. I've also tried loosening/tightening the button, but nothing. Right now the button is flush with the post.
