Another thing to think about, a black bear walking will almost always overlap thier front print with thier rear print. A grizz rear print will be ahead of the front(just like the pic), when walking normaly they rarely completely overlap for a grizz.

With much hesitancy, and only after blowing up the pic so it was fuzzy and hard to see - I thought I saw a belt combined with a long sloping shoulder . . . perhaps a .300 H&H.

My guess is black bear........looks like it too if you go by the diagram posted above

I think some guys are confused because the top track with the cartridge in it is the rear paw of a grizzly and the bottom track is the front paw, hence the longer claws out in front of it.

The track to the left looks like the front toes of a coyote. Need better pictures though to tell.

The reason I guess it was a 270 is because 270 is a commonly used calibre. But it could be a 280 though.

If you read through the post you would know what calibre it is. Try and keep up

A clear pic of th efront paw woudl be the easiest way to determine grizz/black, but if the red spots crazey davey made are the toenail tracks, it's surely a grizzly.
